Key Largo - Investigations into a string of crimes in the Garden Cove subdivision led to the arrest of two men Monday in connection with the crimes.
On January 28th, deputies and detectives investigated the theft of three bicycles and a scooter, the burglary of several vehicles and the theft of mail from a large number of mailboxes in the neighborhood. Witnesses said they saw two black males in a maroon colored mini-van cruising slowly through the neighborhood, stopping at a number of houses. On Monday, Detective Ralph Williams responded to a trespassing call in the neighborhood and, during the course of handling that call, he received information that two Key Largo men, 18 year old Pedro Rodriguez and 22 year old Joseph Zecca, may be connected to the crimes on January 28th.
Deputies met with Rodriguez and Zecca, confronting them with the information they had. The interviews confirmed their involvement in the crimes. Zecca was charged with burglary and grand theft and Rodriguez was arrested for being an accessory to the crimes. The investigation is ongoing, and more charges are expected.
This comment is from a friend, neighbour and co-worker of Raymond Ferro regarding his arrest and his bond. Raymond is a good guy without a criminal record and they're asking for a big bond and we have been looking at the records and for a 2nd degree felony, the bond is of $10,000. Why is Raymond's fine $75,000? Please, his friends and neighbours are asking for a revision on his case.
