Officer Survival Skills training

Fourteen detectives, two patrol deputies and a corrections deputy from the Sheriff’s Office participated in a 3-day Officer Survival Skills course held recently in Marathon.  The participants learned tactical handgun techniques, close quarter combat skills, weapon retention skills, building search techniques, officer rescues, and functional fitness exercises.  The participants engaged in 1 1/2 days of reality-based training using Simunitions.
