Cab driver robbed at gun point


Marathon – A Marathon cab driver was robbed at gun point this morning by a man he’d picked up as a fare.

The driver, who works for On Time Taxi, pulled up to Deputy Christian Galls’ patrol vehicle, parked in the parking lot of K-Mart in Marathon at 3:15 a.m. Deputy Galls said the driver appeared to be shaken and nervous. He told the deputy he’d just been robbed at gun point on 109th Street.

He said he picked up two men at JJ’s Doghouse. He let one of the men out of the cab. The other man directed him to drive to the end of 109th Street, where he had the driver pull into a driveway. The suspect the pulled a gun, held it to the driver’s head and told him to hand over his money. After the driver complied, the suspect exited the car and left the area on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’6” tall in his 20s. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.
