Equipment recovered from burglarized patrol car

An automatic rifle, ammunition and Special Weapons and Tactics gear stolen from a Sheriff’s Office marked patrol car were recovered overnight during the course of an active investigation into the vehicle burglary.

The Sheriff’s Office received information overnight which led to the recovery of the  M4 rifle, the ammunition stolen from the car and the SWAT tactical gear. Two handguns – a Glock .40 caliber and a Glock .45 caliber – are still missing. Detectives are continuing their investigation today, working to identify a suspect and recover the other weapons.

“We are optimistic that we will make an arrest in this case and recover the other weapons,” said Sheriff Bob Peryam. “We have committed all available resources to making sure these weapons are taken off the street and that someone is held responsible for this crime.”
