Landlord arrested for shotgun threats

Marathon – A Marathon landlord was arrested Thursday, charged with threatening his tenants with a shotgun in a dispute over late rent payment.

Deputies responded to a home on 66th Street at 2 p.m. Thursday. When they arrived, 47 year old Michael Sapp told them where to find his shotgun. He told deputies he’d gotten into an argument with his tenants because they hadn’t been paying rent on time. He said he used the shotgun “to make his point”.

Both victims said they’d returned from shopping when the confrontation took place. Two witnesses also confirmed seeing Sapp with the shotgun confronting the two victims.

Sapp was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and he was taken to jail.
