Deputies responded to reports of a fight on 95th
Street in Marathon at 4 p.m. Sunday. On their way, they spotted 37 year old Francis
Dyer walking away from the location of the altercation and they detained him
for further investigation.
When they got to the house where the fight took place, they
found Dyer’s brother with injuries to his face. A woman also on the scene said
she used to live with Dyer but recently left him and started dating his
brother. She also had bruises which she said were a result of the altercation
with Dyer.
Both victims said Dyer forced his way into the house on 95th
Street and started the fight, telling his brother he was going to kill him. The
female victim said she picked up her phone and told Dyer she was going to call
the police if he didn’t stop; he told her if she did he’d kill her so she put
down the phone.
Both victims said Dyer then began throwing things around and
broke a window. There was considerable damage done to the inside of the house.
Dyer was arrested and charged with burglary, criminal mischief,
assault and 2 counts of battery and he was taken to jail.
Once at the jail in a holding cell, he once again became
violent. He began kicking and banging on the door of the cell. By the time
officers got him under control, he’d done an estimated $2,000.00 damage to the
door and locking mechanism. More charges are pending against him.
