Search warrant leads to drug arrest

Marathon - Sheriff's Special Investigations detectives executed a search warrant Wednesday morning, arresting a Marathon man on drug charges.

Special Investigations is participating in a state-wide drug effort called “Operation No Mas”, targeting suspected indoor marijuana grow houses. During a check of a residence at 1517 Overseas highway lot 58, detectives made contact with 31 year old Francisco Javier. Javier gave detectives written consent to search his trailer. Detective located cocaine in his bed room. Detectives then obtained a search warrant for the residence.  A search of the trailer revealed 9 grams of cocaine several empty plastic bags with cocaine residue and two scales. Detectives also seized $1,154.00 in suspected drug proceeds.

Javier was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. Further investigation revealed that Javier had come to the United States illegally and, if convicted, he will face deportation after he completes his jail sentence.
