Boca Raton man arrested for drugs

A Boca Raton man was arrested after a traffic stop revealed the presence of drugs in his vehicle.

25 year old Timothy Parker was stopped at the 105 mile marker of the highway at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday because he had visibly illegal window tinting on his black Dodge Challenger. Parker, who has a concealed weapons permit, admitted to having two handguns in the car. Special Investigations detectives on scene took the guns for safe-keeping as the traffic stop was conducted.

A Miami-Dade K-9 Officer was also on the scene and the dog conducted a sniff of the outside of the vehicle. The dog alerted and Parker was asked if there were drugs in the car. He admitted to having marijuana in the car.

Marijuana was found in the trunk and inside the vehicle. Hallucinogenic mushrooms were also found, along with several items of drug paraphernalia.

Parker was arrested and charged with possessing a felony amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The mushrooms will be sent to a lab for testing after which more charges may be pending.
