Man airlifted after being hit with a golf club

A Marathon man was airlifted to the Ryder Trauma Center in Miami after he was hit numerous times in the head and face with a fist and with a golf club early today.

The incident took place at residence on Fat Deer Key at 1:30 a.m. Deputies responded to calls a man had been injured by another man.

The 34 year old victim was conscious and was able to talk with deputies when they arrived. He told them another person who lives at that location had attacked him. He said  18 year old Jesse Rizzo had hit him in the head multiple times with a golf club and with his fists. He said their disagreement was over Facebook activity.

Rizzo was still on the scene. He admitted to striking the victim with the golf club, which was recovered from Rizzo’s room.

The victim was airlifted to the Ryder Trauma Center for treatment of his injuries. Rizzo was arrested. He was charged with aggravated battery and he was booked into jail.
