A man registered with the state of Florida as a Sexual Predator has notified the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office that he has moved to Monroe County.
31 year old Willie Albert Evans registered his address with the Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement as “Transient” and living under the Boca Chica Bridge. Evans was released from prison and is currently under the supervision of the Florida Department of Corrections. He is required to wear a GPS tracking device and check in with the DOC on a daily basis.
Evans was arrested in January of 2006 by the Key West Police Department for a capital felony – sexual battery on a victim under the age of 12. According to the DOC website, he was found guilty of lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim under 12 and was sent to prison in October of 2008.
The Sheriff’s Office is required by law to notify the public when a person designated as a Sexual Predator moves into Monroe County. There are currently eight Sexual Predators listed on the FDLE website as living in Monroe County. Seven of those are under current supervision by the FDOC.
