Sheriff’s Deputy Linda Kohout responded recently to a report of people illegally camping in a wooded area just south of the Bahia Honda Bridge. When she got there she found a group illegally camping in the woods. The area they were staying in was piled with trash and debris. Deputy Kohout encouraged them to clean up the area themselves and informed them they were not allowed to continue staying there. The group complied with her requests and brought this pile of debris to the roadside, where it was picked up by Infrastructure Corporation of America (ICA), a company contracted to clean up the Department of Transportation right of way. Over 1,200 pounds of trash were removed.
