Sheriff paints out graffiti

Sheriff Rick Ramsay doesn't just do lip service to his belief in community service and keeping our community clean. Yesterday, as he was driving through Key West, he spotted some graffiti on a dumpster on Truman Avenue. He stopped and painted over it.

"If we allow graffiti like this in one spot, pretty soon it is all over," he said. "I tell my officers if they see graffiti, I want it gone in 24 hours. And I follow that rule as well," he said.

He carries multiple colors of paint in his car just for that purpose and can frequently be seen stopping alongside the road to paint some over as he travels up and down the highway.
