A Key Largo man is in jail charged with stealing two kayaks from a neighbor and then selling them to someone else.
The victim reported his two kayaks stolen from his home on Bahama Avenue sometime between September 18th and the 20th. Deputy Jean Gonzalez took the initial incident report.
Subsequent investigations by Sgt. Jason Madnick revealed 32 year old Joshua Davis, a neighbor of the victim, stole the kayaks – valued at $450 each - and sold them to another man for a total of $150.
The person who purchased the kayaks agreed to return them, saying he thought the deal was probably “too good to be true”.
Davis was arrested Tuesday and was booked into jail on charges of burglary, grand theft and dealing in stolen property.
