Marijuana deal gone bad leads to battery

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man who hit another man because he gave him money for marijuana, but never received the drugs.

Deputy Tyler Blanton responded to the parking lot of the Brass Monkey just before 1 a.m. today where he met with the suspect and the victim in the case. The victim had a laceration underneath his eye. He said 49 year old Richard Michalski of Marathon hit him after an argument over money. He said Michalski gave him $300 for a quarter pound of marijuana two weeks ago. He said he never delivered the marijuana to Michalski who now wanted his money back.

The victim said he was in his car when Michalski confronted him about the money. He said after the confrontation, Michalski went into the Brass Monkey for about an hour. He said Michalski then came out of the bar and confronted him again, this time hitting him through the open window of the car.

Because Michalski’s fist entered the victim’s vehicle during the confrontation, Michalski was charged with burglary with battery on the occupant and with battery. He was booked into jail.
