Search warrant leads to drug arrest

A Stock Island man was arrested Friday after a search warrant at his Roberta Street home turned up cocaine, marijuana and alprazolam.

The search warrant was served Friday at 1:30 p.m. at 15 Roberta Street. 67 year old Pedro Torres was at home at the time the warrant was served. Inside the home, officers found marijuana and cocaine in several different areas. They also found many items of drug paraphernalia. In an unlabeled pill bottle they found 38 alprazolam pills which Torres did not have a prescription for.

Torres was arrested. He was charged with possession of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.

The warrant was served by Monroe County Sheriff’s Office HIDTA detectives, Homeland Security Investigations, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Key West Police Special Investigations and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
