On Saturday, December 13th, there will be a sobriety checkpoint held on Stock Island.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Key West Police, Florida Highway Patrol and Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission will be working together from 7 p.m. until 2 a.m. the following morning. The checkpoint will be at Cross Street and Highway U.S. One on Stock Island, northbound.
Officers on the scene will be pulling cars over to the side of the road and checking drivers for impairment. They will also check for outstanding warrants, and check vehicles for properly operating safety equipment.
Florida law requires law enforcement agencies announce such checkpoints to the public in advance.
