A fight in a wooded area of Marathon March 31st resulted in the arrest of two men today.
The fight took place in a wooded area behind the Marathon Home Depot. A woman called the Sheriff’s Office after she heard someone yelling for help. She told Sheriff’s dispatchers there was a fight and two men were siccing dogs on a third man. Shortly after that, the 29 year old victim, a Marathon resident, called to say he needed medical attention. He was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, sustained from the dog attacks, as well as from being punched, kicked and hit with bottles by his two attackers.
Investigations identified two suspects, 33 year old Anthony Wollweber and 34 year old Michael Payne. Warrants were issued for their arrest and today, detectives arrested both men, charging them with aggravated battery. They were booked into jail.
