This week – May 3rd to the 9th - our agency and others across the nation take time out to recognize the employees working in our three detention facilities in Monroe County. This is National Correctional Officers and Employees Week.
In 1984, President Ronald Reagan signed a proclamation creating this special week. Employees working in detention facilities have a difficult job. They are charged with working in a truly stressful environment and at the same time, ensuring the custody, safety and well-being of those under their care.
Please join the Sheriff’s Office in thanking all of our Corrections deputies and employees for their hard work and dedication.
