A
46-year-old man and a 17-year-old male were arrested Thursday in the theft of
an outboard boat engine from a Key Colony Beach residence.
Sean
Joseph Fontenot was charged with dealing in stolen property and violation of
probation and the juvenile was charged with grand theft and dealing in stolen
property.
Sheriff’s
Office Detectives and Key Colony Beach Police Officers began investigating
after the missing engine was reported on Thursday. That investigation led them
to Fontenot who lives on a nearby sailboat along with the juvenile.
The
juvenile admitted to stealing the engine and attempting to sell it. Fontenot
admitted that he had knowledge of that and his intention was to dump the engine
in the water.
The
engine was found on Fontenot’s sailboat and returned to the victim.
