An Islamorada woman told detectives she was attacked in her
home by another woman early today. The suspect held her against her will and
threatened her with a knife.
The attack reportedly took place at 1:20 a.m. The victim
eventually managed to break away from her attacker and flee; the suspect ran after
her. The two women fought and the victim was assisted by two good Samaritans
who saw the fight and pulled the suspect off the victim, allowing the victim to
escape.
The suspect ran from the scene. Detectives say they have
been able to identify her with help from the victim, who knows who she is. They
are continuing to investigate and anticipate making an arrest in the case soon.
