A 33-year-old Tavernier man was arrested Thursday following
an investigation into a robbery that occurred on Sept. 11 at an Upper Keys gas
station.
Aaron Vincent Cipollone was charged with robbery and
aggravated assault.
Cipollone entered the Marlin gas station at 88601 Overseas
Highway at approximately 1:38 a.m. He went to purchase a candy bar and a drink
when he displayed a knife, threatened to stab the clerk, and grabbed cash from
the register. The clerk drew his own knife and stabbed Cipollone in the arm,
who in turn fled with the candy bar, but no money.
Cipollone was identified as the suspect in the ensuing investigation.
Warrants were obtained and he was booked into jail on
Thursday.
