Large Haitian migrant landing in Upper Keys

 

 

A mass migration incident occurred near Whale Harbor in Islamorada at Mile Marker 84 at approximately 6:45 p.m. Monday.

 

The Sheriff’s Office responded to support U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Coast Guard, and other federal and state agencies at the scene.

 

Motorists on U.S. 1 should expect delays in the area and be cautious as bad weather is also impacting the operations. Multiple ambulances and fire trucks are also on the scene.
