Two water-related deaths reported Thursday

The body of a deceased male was found in the water approximately 100 yards off of Carrol Street, Oceanside, in Islamorada at approximately 9:20 a.m.

 

Detectives are working to identify the man.

 

In the second case, a 51-year-old female snorkeler under duress in the water at the Sombrero Beach Lighthouse south of Marathon was brought ashore at approximately 10:09 a.m. Heidi Lynn Taylor of Bonita Springs, Florida, was pronounced dead shortly thereafter at Fishermen’s Hospital.

 

Foul play is not believed to be a factor in either case.

 

Autopsy results are pending in both cases.
