A Stock Island man was arrested after a search warrant
turned up a large amount of marijuana.
Detectives served a search warrant just before 8 a.m. Wednesday
at B11 8th Avenue on Stock Island. On the property, there was a
downstairs enclosure occupied by Jose Mesa Chacon. In the room, under the bed,
detectives found a bag containing 1.96 pounds of marijuana.
Chacon was arrested. He was charged with possessing a felony
amount of marijuana and he was booked into jail. Assisting with service of the search
warrant was the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit, Homeland Security
Investigations, Monroe And Key West HIDTA groups and Key West Police Department’s
Special Operations Unit.
