FDOT
to close the Seven Mile Bridge for 30 minutes at 11:30 p.m. tonight, Oct. 31,
and this Sunday, Nov. 3, at the same time
Both
will be complete shut downs in both directions of U.S. 1
• There will also be daytime
lane shifts between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, and Wednesday, Nov.
6.
• During the complete
nighttime shutdowns tonight and Sunday: Traffic will be stopped at both ends of
the Seven Mile Bridge. No traffic will be allowed on the bridge. In the case of
emergencies, operations will pause to allow emergency response vehicles to
pass.
• A contractor with the Florida Department of Transportation
is conducting repairs on the bridge and installing navigational lights.
• These are highly technical repairs/operations conducted
from the water. Weather — including wave action, rain and wind — will all
impact safety concerns and therefore: scheduling.
• Specific dates for closures will be displayed 48 hours in
advance and at www.fdotmonroe.com
