Deputies seek help in theft case


Deputies are seeking help from the public in identifying two unknown males seen on surveillance video/photos (see attached) stealing $100 worth of life bait from an Islamorada tackle shop.

The incident occurred at 2:39 a.m., Oct. 5 at the Tackle Center of Islamorada, 82661 Overseas Highway.

One suspect bought a bag of ice from an ice machine near the tackle store while the video footage shows the other suspect stealing live bait from a bait cooler.

• Suspect 1 was described as a white male wearing black socks with black sandals with a Champion® logo dark blue shirt with yellow Vans® shoes. He wore dark shorts, a dark colored hat with a camo pattern. He had dark hair in a ponytail. This is the suspect who stole the bait.

• Suspect 2 was described as wearing black shorts, gray shorts, gray tennis shoes with white soles and white socks.
