The U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, Florida Fish and Wildlife
Conservation Commission and the Sheriff’s Office are searching for 74-year-old
John Gyurstak of Big Pine Key.
Neighbors reported Gyurstak missing Tuesday morning after he
was last seen Monday afternoon leaving to fuel his boat — a roughly 30-foot
center console with multiple outboards.
The boat was found approximately 2:30 p.m. Tuesday anchored
just off Little Palm Island with the engines idling.
A PFD was found on board, but Gyurstak remains missing.
There were no signs of foul play on board the boat.
It is still very early in this case.
Anyone with information regarding Mr. Gyurstak should call
911.
