Upper Keys Deputies encounter python

A motorist near the Ocean Reef Club reported seeing a python on County Road 905 about 7:19 p.m. Tuesday.

Detective Ian Barnett and Deputies Ignacio Molina and Cody Jackson arrived to find the python in the southbound lanes. It was dead.

They estimated the snake to be between eight and nine feet long.

The snake was cleared from the road.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission were called to remove the snake.
