Traffic advisories for this week

• A contractor for the Florida Department of Transportation will be inspecting the Seven Mile Bridge from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.

The work could be done earlier than 5 p.m., but motorist should expect slow traffic on the bridge during those times as traffic will be diverted around a snooper truck.

There will be delays in traffic in both directions.

FDOT has a app for smartphones called Florida 511 that motorists may be interested in. The app provides up-to-the-minute, real-time traffic conditions. It is a great companion app to the Sheriff’s Office app for smartphones. For more information go to: https://fl511.com/app

Both the fl511 app and the Sheriff’s App are available on Apple App Store and Google Play.

• The Florida Keys Toys for Tots Run for Fun motorcycle ride is this Saturday, Dec. 14, in the Upper Keys.

The motorcycle ride will leave Gilbert’s Resort, 107900 Overseas Highway, in Key Largo, at 11 a.m. and finish at Founder’s Park, Mile Marker 86.8.

The run takes about an hour, but the whole event runs until roughly 5 p.m. at Founder’s Park.

Expect traffic delays in the Upper Keys from approximately 11 a.m. to noon.

Please be patient and plan accordingly.
