Woman arrested in DUI/hit-and-run case


A 55-year-old Marathon woman was arrested early Wednesday morning after hitting two vehicles at a Marathon restaurant.

Anne Prideaux was charged with DUI, DUI with damage to property, leaving the scene of a crash and resisting arrest.

There were no reported injuries.

Deputy Corbin Hradecky received a be-on-the-lookout alert at 1:48 a.m. regarding a white Ford, F-150 pickup truck which struck two vehicles at the Dockside Bar and Grill, 35 Sombrero Beach Road. Deputy Hradecky spotted the truck driving in circles on the 1500 block of Copa De Oro West. The truck had broken tail lights, a bent bumper and other damage indicating it had been in a crash. Deputy Hradecky stopped the truck and identified as Prideaux as the driver. She smelled of alcohol and showed signs of impairment. Prideaux stated she did not know where she was.

Prideaux was placed in custody shortly thereafter for DUI.

Deputy Hradecky went to the business where the crashes occurred. Multiple witnesses there stated they saw the white pickup truck in the parking lot loudly revving its engine. The truck suddenly shifted into reverse and backing into a parked truck at a high rate of speed. The witnesses stated the white pickup truck then pulled forward and reversed again, this time crashing into a parked sedan. The witnesses stated they yelled for the driver to stop. The white pickup truck left the scene.

Prideaux was taken to jail.
