Man arrested in illegal dumping case

A 29-year-old Key West, Florida man was arrested Friday in connection with approximately 1,400 pounds of trash left on a Stock Island street — the second such arrest in the Lower Keys by the Sheriff’s Office in a week.

Robert Thomas Householder was charged with felony illegal dumping.

The Sheriff’s Office began investigating after a large pile of debris and trash was found on Front Street. Information leading to Householder was established during the subsequent investigation. Householder admitted to leaving garbage at the scene.

Monroe County Solid Waste workers removed a total of 1,400 pounds of trash from the area.
