A 42-year-old Fort Lauderdale, Florida motorist was arrested Monday after reaching speeds greater than 100 mph while fleeing from the Sheriff’s Office.
Carolyn Marie Frawley was charged with fleeing and eluding.
The Sheriff’s Office observed a southbound Chevrolet Tahoe near 37th Street on U.S. 1. in Marathon speeding at approximately 1:36 a.m. The Tahoe stopped near Mile Marker 47, and then took off at a high rate of speed, reaching 112 mph.
The Sheriff’s Office successfully spiked the vehicle’s tires near Mile Marker 32.
Frawley, the driver and sole occupant, was taken into custody without further incident.
