Man arrested for indecent exposure

A Marathon man was arrested for indecent exposure Tuesday.

The charges against 33 year old Osviel Perez Gamez stem from an incident on Coco Plum Beach in Marathon on June 3^rd. The victim called the Sheriff’s Office to report a man exposing himself and masturbating on the beach. She said he was standing behind her and when she asked what he was doing, he replied “it’s a nice view”. She left the area immediately and called for help.

When Deputy Tina Speicker arrived on the scene, Gamez was still on the beach. The victim identified him as the man who exposed himself to her. She told the deputy he was wearing orange/peach colored boxers. When the deputy spoke with Gamez, he was wearing a pair of shorts, but he kept lowering his shorts during their conversation revealing he did, indeed, have orange/peach colored boxers underneath.

A check in the computer revealed a previous trespass warning had been issued to Gamez for Coco Plum Beach. The case was referred to the State Attorney’s Office and a warrant was issued for Gamez. On Tuesday, he was arrested for exposure of sexual organs and trespassing after warning. He was booked into jail.
