Three people were arrested on drug related charges Wednesday.
32 year old Jaboa Brown was arrested Wednesday on a warrant
charging him with sale of marijuana and use of a two way communication device
to facilitate a felony. He is accused of selling the illegal drug to an
undercover operative in January of this year. The sale took place in the
parking lot of a Stock Island restaurant that is within 1,000 feet of a church,
enhancing the drug charge to a second degree felony. This warrant was the
result of an investigation by the Sheriff’s Special Investigations Unit and
Lower Keys road patrol.
45 year old Lael Freeman was arrested Wednesday on two
outstanding warrants, each charging her with trafficking in a controlled
substance and use of a two way communication device to facilitate a felony. In
November of 2015, Freeman sold a total of 52 pills – Hydrocodone and Oxycodone
– to an undercover operative who met with her at a Stock Island residence. In
December, she sold 21 Percocet pills to an undercover operative in the parking
lot of a drug store on Stock Island. These warrants were the result of
investigations by the Sheriff’s Special Investigations Unit, assisted by the
Drug Enforcement Administration.
49 year
old Antowand Conliffe of Flint, Michigan was arrested Wednesday after traffic stop revealed he was in possession of
drugs. Conliffe was stopped by Deputy Josh Gordon for speeding on MacDonald
Avenue, Stock Island just before 5 p.m. He does not have a valid driver’s
license so he was arrested. A pill bottle was in his back pocket with cocaine
and Clonazepam inside. Several items of drug paraphernalia were found in the
center console of the Buick passenger car he was driving. Conliffe was
arrested. He was charged with driving with a suspended license, possession of
cocaine, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and
possession of drug paraphernalia. Sheriff’s Special Investigations Unit also
assisted in this case.
