Detectives trying to locate missing woman

Update: Kimberly Smith has been located, safe, in the city of Miami. Arrangements are being made to return her to her family. Thanks to everyone who helped us get the word out about Ms. Smith.

Sheriff’s detectives say they are trying to locate a woman missing since Thursday. They want to make sure she is safe and sound and that nothing bad has happened to her.

56 year old Kimberly Smith was reported missing Friday by her boyfriend, Robert Boyd. He walked in to the Marathon Sheriff’s substation Friday to say he hadn’t seen her since 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

He told Sgt. Spenser Bryan they argued and she left their house at 531 5th Street in Key Colony Beach. He said she only had a few dollars with her, so he expected her to return. He said she has been living with him since February and does not know many people in the area.

Sgt. Bryan tried to call her cell phone, which went to voice mail. He also called local hospitals to make sure she had not been injured.

Smith was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white long sleeved shirt, black jacket with “Scott 28” on the back and sandals.

Major Crimes Detective Bob Dosh has been assigned to follow up on this case. Anyone who knows where she is or who has any information about her is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 305-289-2351.
