Helping out a tired pigeon

Deputy Debbi Johnson was on patrol on Long Key when she spotted this white crowned pigeon on the shoulder of the road. She stopped and at first thought it was dead. Then she realized it was still living so whe took it to the Wild Bird Center. A volunteer at the shelter told her it appears the pigeon is just very exhausted by all the recent high winds and should recover after a brief rest.
