Two homeless Marathon men were arrested Tuesday night for
dumping trash at the 15th Street utility pole.
The Sheriff’s Office ultimately removed approximately 500
pounds of trash, furniture and debris from the site where homeless often
congregate.
Robert Steven Zambri, 69, and Bradly Karl Dolan, 60, were
each charged with illegally dumping. Dolan was additionally charged with
resisting arrest.
Four Deputies and a Sergeant went to the utility pole at
approximately 9:30 p.m. to investigate a complaint of heavy debris and trash at
the light pole. They arrived to find several men known to them as homeless who
stay in the area. The Deputies explained the litter law regarding the amount of
furniture and trash that accumulated near the light pole.
Both Zambri and Dolan identified some of the furniture and
debris as theirs.
Dolan refused to help pick up the trash. Dolan stiffened up
and refused to be handcuffed when informed he was being arrested for violating
the litter law.
Marathon Fire Rescue firefighters also responded and hosed down the light pole and surrounding area in an effort to further clean the location.
