Woman dies in dive incident

A 59–year-old Mishawaka, Indiana woman died Thursday morning after surfacing from 100 feet on the Vandenburg artificial reef south of Key West.

Rebecca Butler Power was diving with the commercial dive boat Southpoint Divers in Key West.

Power was taken to Coast Guard Station Key West at approximately 10:32 a.m. to waiting Key West Fire Rescue paramedics who took her to Lower Keys Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

The incident remains under investigation.

Foul play was not a factor in the death.

Autopsy results are pending.
